Tour Tip
Fabrics with large motifs can be hard to use in small patches. But I discovered a way that it can be done.
Large-scale motifs are about the size of my hand.
Go ahead and cut that fabric up into patches. In my example, I cut rectangles that were 1-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ so I could make Baby Windmills. Sort the patches into “families” as shown below.
Sort the patches into “families,” putting similar patches into groups.
Use the groups of patches together as you make blocks, like this:
